Wilt u het hout behandelen om te beschermen tegen verval, of wilt u het hout behandelen om esthetisch te beschermen?<\/p>\n<h3>Duurzaamheidsklassen van hout<\/h3>\n<p>Om te bepalen welke houtsoort behandeld moet worden zijn de verschillende houtsoorten opgedeeld in duurzaamheidsklassen. De duurzaamheidsklasse van hout wordt gemeten op de schaal van 1 tot 5. Hierbij is 1 het duurzaamst, en 5 niet duurzaam.<\/p>\n<p>Duurzaam hout kan 15 tot 25 jaar, of langer, meegaan zonder behandeld te worden. Niet duurzaam hout gaat onbehandeld slechts een aantal jaar mee.<\/p>\n<p>Toch is het verstandig om duurzame houtsoorten zoals\u00a0Europees eiken of Teak\u00a0hout toch te behandelen en waterafstotend te maken.
